Allergan submits unsolicited $3.2 billion bid to purchase Inamed With Medicis suffering hold ups in their $2.8 billion purchase offer for Inamed, Allergan submits an unsolicited bid for $3.2 billion stating they could close the deal in January 2006. The Allergan purchase would have a single company distribute Botox, collagen, Hylaform and Captique injectables; and potentially eliminate Myobloc as a future competitor to Botox.

Distributors of fake Botox plead guilty The husband-and-wife doctors who ran an Arizona company pleaded guilty Monday to federal charges involving the distribution of a poisonous knockoff of the anti-wrinkle treatment Botox. Chad Livdahl, president of Toxin Research International Inc., and Zahra Karim, the company's registered agent, pleaded guilty to one count each of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and one count each of substantive wire fraud.

Non-surgical 'eye lift' While makeup may hide your dark circles, it can't fix the bags or sunken look from loss of volume under the eyes. This new type of an eyelift using dermal fillers seems to fill in the depression under the eyes, and will make any bags less noticeable.

LifeStem offers stem cell collection service through Solana Medspas LifeStem, the first company to focus on micro-collection and banking of stem cells, has signed a Letter of Intent with Solana MedSpas to offer LifeStem's Stem Cell MicroBank Service through the Solana MedSpa network.

Isolagen falls on hard times The future looked all but wrinkle-free for biotech company Isolagen just over a year ago. The firm, developer of an anti-aging facial treatment that analysts said could rival Botox, appeared well on its way to U.S. regulatory approval. Now, however, Isolagen is showing signs of stress.
